There is an alpha version of TouchPoint 2016 with the new improved split checks feature now available.
To put this update on your till go to pgm5->check for updates and type in "split"
Warning! This will overwrite your skin.xml file.
Pressing the split checks key will now give you something that looks like this

Allowing you to move items between seats, print a bill for a specific seat and split the content of a seat out into a separate sale for payment
Some of the changes required to make this possible have had dramatic consequences to things like discounts and as such this version is absolutely NOT safe for use in a live site.
