hi mr col.
1. its an existing customer of ours, which we supply other things, they bought it not so long ago, and never used it, eposnow weren't very helpful, so they asked us if we could help to get it going, so we tried to get ICR running on it.
2. the model is a Pro-A15 (2016 model) very tacky looking.
it came with a PRINTER and MSR and a few swipe cards.

PRINTER = was a pita to setup, i took the advice of most people online and ditched it and used one of our normal serial printers, no configuration needed on the printer, just to set it in io parameters. (you should receive said printer today/tomorrow via TNT)
MSR = required no config at all, it came separately, and screws to the side of the screen, with like a small 4 pin connector type thingy
Loyalty cards work fine when programmed with ICR00001111 (0000 branch 1111 acc number), Staff swipe cards work when programmed with CLK1, CLK2, etc, you don't even need to read them into the clerk button details, they just work.

3. i have not removed any of the EPOSNOW software yet, there are multiple driver folders and tools etc, i wasn't sure what to keep or what not to keep, so i merely delete the program icons off the desktop. so they are not accessible. i THINK there was some remote software on it, it was a separate exe on the desktop, called abby admin or something, I'm assuming this was some sort of remote software.
I couldn't actually run the software when i tried it seems you need to sign-up or have some account details from them to log in, the back office software and till software both run on the machine.
4. firing the cash drawer from "device on com1" so the printer, which is what i usually do, there is no dedicated cash drawer (rj11?) socket on the till itself.
ex:-
it doesn't have a second display on it.
this particular unit only came with an msr, there is no button with it.
there was no windows login password, the till boots straight to the desktop, where i guess the customer would finish off by setting up and running the epos now software.
the till is also infected with epos now branding also which is pretty simple to remove,
desktop background (easy to change)
startup/shutdown backgrounds, (not easy to change for everyone, but you can change or delete the one in c:/windows/system32/oobe/info
imo it pretty straight forward to get going. install touchpoint demo and update it, license it, et viola.
i hope this covers some of your questions, need anymore info let me know
