We had a spate of new installs where we are getting problems running latest version of Touchpoint on SAM4s Titan 160 terminals (POS Ready 7)
We've proved that it is not ICR but something to with the touch input.
I personally stood there with a customer and shown them what the clean screen button is for. After the countdown it is not possible to touch any buttons in ICR. However if you plug in a keyboard/mouse you can control ICR. Its as if the touch panel is still transmitting multiple inputs. This can only be sorted by a terminal reboot.
Easy fix, tell the customer to turn the terminal off to clean the screen!
However we've now had a couple of instances where it is now happening during operation, mainly when its busy.
If we log in remotely we can take control of ICR, but we have to reboot to cure the non touch input of the screen.
Calls to YCR can shed no light and nobody else has had the problem. We were even told at one point that the terminal was not suitable for use in a bar by one of their newbies on support, due to liquid and wet hands!
We have spoken to another source who resells the terminals and they have had something similar. We've been advised to set the Touch Sensitivity to 200 as this apparently sorts it out? We logged into a remote site and changed it from around 130 to 200 (we noticed that on a new machine unboxed here today that they are now being set to 200 by default). However as soon as we got the customer to test clean the screen it locked up again on the new settings. We turned on that horrible Tablet style touch so you get the circle around the press and noticed when the machine was locked up we kept getting a circle press around the journal window area of the skin, Once again we had to reboot to clear the lock up on touch.
However the one we just unboxed today, will not lock up on touch, even on clean screen (yes all the screen packing is off).
Anybody else experienced anything similar? We've a lot of sites out running Titan 160 and older machines are fine, it has only been happening since around Feb time of this year. (maybe a change in hardware manufacturer/touch panel or touch driver)
